All prices are inclusive of clinician time, consumables and a follow-up plan. Drug costs for premium HA brands may be quoted separately at the time of booking. If you plan to claim through private medical insurance, please check your policy details with your insurer first and bring any authorisation or membership details to your appointment.

How our pricing works

Every fee on this page is a fully-inclusive price. It covers the clinician's time, the diagnostic ultrasound scan where relevant, all consumables (needles, dressings, standard-dose medication), a written summary of findings, and a follow-up review to check on your progress. You will never be surprised by an add-on charge after your appointment. If your treatment plan needs to change on the day — for example the scan reveals a different structure is the pain generator — we will always talk through the revised plan and cost before proceeding.

Most patients complete their assessment, ultrasound scan and (if appropriate) ultrasound-guided injection in a single 45-minute appointment. This "one-stop" pathway saves you a return visit and typically works out cheaper than the same service billed separately by a hospital outpatient department.

Insurance & payment

We welcome self-pay patients and can provide detailed invoices suitable for insurance reimbursement claims. If you plan to claim through an insurer, please check your policy details with them first and bring any authorisation or membership details to your appointment. Where your policy allows direct billing, we will do our best to arrange this on your behalf.

Self-pay patients can settle by card, bank transfer or contactless payment at the clinic. No GP referral is required for any of our services and we welcome patients from across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and the surrounding counties.

Frequently asked pricing questions

Why is the ultrasound-guided injection more expensive than a blind injection?

A guided injection includes a full diagnostic ultrasound scan (typically £150 on its own), longer clinician time, and the precision needed to place medication into a target structure only a few millimetres wide. Published evidence shows guided injections are more accurate and more effective than landmark-based ones for most joints and tendons.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. We are a self-referral clinic and see the vast majority of patients directly. If you'd like us to write to your GP with our findings we're happy to — a full report is included at no extra cost.

Can I claim on my private medical insurance?

We can provide detailed invoices and procedure codes suitable for insurance reimbursement claims, but coverage varies by policy. We recommend contacting your insurer before booking to confirm what they will reimburse.

What if the scan shows I don't need an injection?

You'll only be charged the scan-and-consultation fee (£150), not the combined injection price. We only recommend an injection when the evidence and clinical picture support it.

Are there any discounts for a course of shockwave therapy?

Yes. Packages of 3 or 6 sessions are priced below the single-session rate, and we bundle the loading rehab plan into the course price.

How long does an injection last?

Steroid injections typically give 6–12 weeks of relief; hyaluronic acid injections 6–12 months; Arthrosamid is intended to give durable relief beyond 3 years. Individual response varies and we'll discuss realistic expectations at your consultation.
