Finding the clinic
Oxford Injection Clinic is based at GB Clinic Oxford, on the ground floor of 14 Elms Parade in Botley — a short drive or bus journey from Oxford city centre, the Westgate, the John Radcliffe Hospital and the ring road. Free on-street parking is available directly outside the clinic for up to two hours, and the West Way Square car park is a two-minute walk away. Buses S1, 4, 4A, 4B, 4C and 35 all stop on Westminster Way, less than 100 metres from our door.
If you're travelling from further afield, Oxford railway station is 1.5 miles away — taxis are readily available at the rank. Patients regularly travel to see us from Abingdon, Witney, Kidlington, Bicester, Didcot, Wallingford, Wantage, Wheatley, Thame, Henley-on-Thames, Reading, Banbury, Chipping Norton and across the Cotswolds. We can also offer home visits in and around Oxford where clinically appropriate.
What to expect when you call
Our reception team is trained in musculoskeletal triage, so when you call they can usually tell you within a couple of minutes whether we're the right service for your problem, roughly how long an appointment will take, and what the total cost is likely to be. Where things aren't clear cut we'll offer a short, free clinician call-back so a physiotherapist can talk it through with you before you commit to booking.
For urgent problems — a sudden loss of function, a hot swollen joint, or pain that has appeared after a fall — we'll do everything we can to see you the same day or the next working day. If your symptoms suggest an emergency (loss of bladder or bowel control, saddle anaesthesia, sudden severe chest pain), please contact NHS 111 or attend the emergency department instead.
Common questions before booking
Do you accept private medical insurance?
We welcome self-pay patients and can provide detailed invoices suitable for insurance reimbursement claims. If you plan to claim through an insurer, please check your policy details with them first and bring any authorisation or membership details to your appointment.
How quickly can I be seen?
Most patients are offered an appointment within 2–5 working days. Same-day and evening slots are available for urgent problems.
Is the clinic step-free?
Yes — the clinic entrance and treatment rooms are all on the ground floor with level access.
Can I bring someone with me?
Absolutely. Partners, family or friends are welcome to attend your consultation with you.
Can I have my scan images afterwards?
Yes — a written report is included in your fee and images can be shared via secure email on request.
Do I need to fast or stop any medication?
No preparation is needed for the vast majority of appointments. If you're on blood-thinners please let us know at booking so we can plan accordingly.
